The tour is about 3 hours long and starts from behind the Swakopmund plotte and works its way all the way to Goanikontes and then back to Swakopmund. Martin, our guide, showed us a wonderful selection of desert plants and taught us the various names and medicinal purposes. Being Damara, he also tried to teach us a few click sounds, but our tongues are just too stiff!
Seeing the Welwitschias this close to Swakopmund was a surprise to me, and I do hope to spend more time with them in the future. And then of course, we were in time to enjoy the moon landscape from the viewpoint as the last golden rays grazed the mountain tops. Yes!
My tour was co-sponsored by ATI Holidays & Charly’s Desert Tours. Thank you so much!
Now, enjoy the photos!
