It’s time for action. My eerste Matriek Afskeid foto sessie hier aan die kus. My modelle is fantasties. Altwee “love” drama en die poses vloei. Die Mustang het ‘n harde tyd om by te bly – Stefan en Juané is warmer as ‘n Ford-engin.

Die sessie is vinniger verby as wat ek gedink maar die click-count op my kamera lyk na ‘n halwe dag se foto’s. Hoe op dees aarde kies mens?

Juané se rok is natuurlik deur local superhero Petrus @ Amazing Designs

The Ultimate Matric Farewell Photo Guide

Sequins, nerves, and one wild night you’ll never forget.

The shoes might be too loud, the lashes borderline illegal, and Mom’s already stressed out of her highlights — but that’s the magic. Your Matric Farewell Photo Session isn’t about perfect poses or flawless makeup.

It’s about freezing the anticipation, the laughter, and the bold, ridiculous joy of finally finishing school.

This is your cheat sheet for turning chaos and sequins into a frame-worthy adventure that feels as electric as the night itself.

The Vibe: Organised Chaos

If there’s hairspray fog in the air and someone’s crying-laughing in the backseat because a shoe broke — congratulations, you’re doing it right.

Your Matric Photoshoot isn’t about curated perfection. It’s the beautiful blur of nerves, glam squads, besties hyping you up, and that wild heartbeat moment when the flash clicks and you realise… this is it.

Messy laughs. Dramatic twirls. Sparkly eyeliner mishaps.

Those blink-and-you’ll-miss-it glances that say, we did it.

I don’t chase stiff poses or red-carpet perfection — I’m here for the story.

Hype over symmetry.

Attitude over curation.

Personality over polish.

Because one day, these photos won’t just show how you looked — they’ll remind you how it all felt.

For the Family Members Joining You

(Mom, this one’s mostly for you!)

Getting ready for a Matric Farewell Photoshoot can feel like chaos in heels — I get it. So here are a few style sanity savers:

Outfits: Skip the matchy-matchy black-and-white flashbacks. Instead, think layers, textures, and effortless coordination. Use the Rule of Three — two neutrals (black, white, grey, tan, denim) + one accent colour (green, pink, blue… you choose the pop). You’re not matching — you’re vibing.

Loud logos or prints: Unless you’re auditioning for a rock band, leave them home.

Confidence over curation: If you don’t love your arms, skip sleeveless. If you love your sneakers, wear them. Comfort = confidence.

Dress for the scene: Urban = street chic. Nature = soft tones that play nice with the scenery, not fight it.

Prep for the Support Crew (Mom, Dad… that’s you)

Because behind every epic photo is a parent with a lint roller and nerves of steel.

Checklist Highlights:

  • Safety pins + backup lashes (chaos insurance)

  • A pre-photo pep talk: “This is your main character moment — own it.”

  • Empty pockets or sleek bags (phones will sneak into shots)

  • Calm voice of reason (every shoot needs one)

  • Lipstick, comb, tissues, chocolate

  • Snacks for morale — and maybe champagne

  • Joy over control. Always.

Bonus tip: If your teen wears sneakers with their formal outfit, don’t fight it. That’s legacy. That’s confidence. That’s gold.

Siblings, Besties & Guest Stars

A Matric Farewell Photoshoot without a hype squad? Impossible.

Checklist Highlights:

  • Coordinated-ish looks for group shots

  • One hype human minimum

  • Water, wipes, calm energy (because mascara melts)

  • Warn me about extras — I’ll prep the perfect chaos-wrangling strategy

Remember:

Best friends pose like they’ve trained for this.

Siblings? Freelance photobombers.

Matric Farewell Prep Kit

Pack light… but smart.

Confidence (non-negotiable, glitter optional)

Backup shoes

Emergency makeup + hair kit

Water & snacks (fainting isn’t aesthetic)

Phone (for TikToks, not panic texts)

Patience + humour (essential gear)

So, What Happens Now?

You survived the outfit debates, fixed the lash emergency, and still have one button hanging on — now it’s showtime.

When you arrive, slightly frazzled and sparkling with excitement, we start slow. Warm-up shots to shake off the nerves. Inside jokes. Dramatic spins. The moment your confidence clicks into place.

My approach? Part documentary, part “Pinterest, but real life.”

Candid chaos meets cinematic storytelling.

There will be laughter, fake runway struts, emotional parents, and maybe a few “I can’t believe it’s over” tears.

This is your story — and I’m just lucky enough to photograph it.
