Intimate weddings. Honest moments. I photograph real people in tangible moments who care more about connection than perfect poses - based in Namibia, travelling everywhere.

You didn’t come all the way to Namibia for perfect.

You came for the early mornings.
For roads that disappear into the horizon.
For coffee from an enamel mug while the sun climbs over the dunes.
For the feeling of standing somewhere so vast that everything else goes quiet.
If you’re getting married here, maybe your wedding day should feel the same.
Though getting married in Namibia is probably as close to perfect as you’ll ever get.

We were delighted with our wedding photos taken by Mariëtte du Toit. Mariëtte really went above and beyond to make sure we got the best possible photos despite a very challenging setting. Her local knowledge and photograghic experience were invaluable. Highly reccomended!

Exceptional photos! Outstanding character! An experience you will not forget. Definitely higly recommended.

For couples who would rather feel the wind than follow a schedule.

From the Skeleton Coast to the dunes of the Namib Desert and the vast plains of Etosha National Park — Namibia is not a backdrop. It is an experience.

The wind will probably ruin your hair.

There will be sand in your shoes before the ceremony even starts.

Somebody will forget something important.

The coffee will taste better than it does at home.

And at some point, standing in all that space, you’ll realise that none of the small things mattered anyway.

This is your love story.

And in Namibia, it can unfold slowly, freely — without performance.

Whether you choose a quiet elopement in the Namib Desert or an intimate safari celebration in Etosha National Park, your day should feel like you: grounded, adventurous, and deeply connected.

I am here to document it as it truly is — wild, intimate and entirely yours.

I’M MARIETTE. MY APPROACH?

MORE OF YOU, LESS OF ME.

Hi, I’m Mariëtte — a Namibia elopement photographer based on the coast, documenting intimate weddings and destination celebrations across this extraordinary country.
For more than a decade, I’ve photographed love stories set against Namibia’s vast landscapes — from windswept coastlines to desert plains and remote safari lodges.
If you are planning an elopement in Namibia, I help you create a day that feels intentional, connected and deeply personal.
Whether you’re hiking through Fish River Canyon, exploring Deadvlei in the Namib Desert, exchanging vows along the Skeleton Coast, or celebrating during a safari in Etosha National Park, I’ll guide you every step of the way.
Planning a Namibia destination wedding can feel overwhelming from abroad.
My background in tourism and lodge management means I understand the logistics of remote travel, permits, light conditions, seasons and timing.

I don’t just photograph your day — I help you shape it.

Documentary-Style Namibia Wedding Photography

I’m not the photographer who arrives with a shot list and a hundred poses.

Most of the time, I’m watching.

Waiting for the way you reach for each other’s hand when nobody thinks a photograph is being taken.

The laugh that wasn’t planned.

The moment after the moment.

That’s usually where I’m waiting.

Elopements Across Namibia

Namibia is one of the most unique wedding destinations in the world. Vast, uncrowded and beautifully raw.

As a Namibia elopement photographer, I regularly document:
• Namib Desert weddings at Deadvlei and Dune 45
• Skeleton Coast elopements along the Atlantic shoreline
• Etosha National Park wedding safaris
• Intimate lodge weddings in remote conservancies
• Adventure elopements in Fish River Canyon

Whether you are seasoned travellers or visiting Namibia for the first time, I work with you to craft an experience that feels natural and effortless.

I know a Namibia not found on Google

Before photography, I worked in tourism.

I’ve spent years travelling these roads,

watching weather move across the desert,

learning which places come alive at sunrise and which ones are worth staying up for after dark.

When couples ask me where to elope in Namibia, I’m not opening Google.

I’m remembering places.

Ready to Plan Your Elopement in Namibia?

If you are dreaming of a Namib Desert wedding, a Skeleton Coast elopement, or an intimate safari ceremony in Etosha National Park, I would love to hear what you’re envisioning.

Let’s create a wedding day that feels wild, intimate and unmistakably yours.

Sossusvlei Lodge - Sossuslvei

Hans & Ranelda

Before the sun etched over the dunes and into the white pan, Hans, Ranelda, and I walked among the trees of Deadvlei. The cool morning air still lingered between the trees; it wasn't difficult to celebrate this beautiful couple on their most special day.

Helmut & Sara

Helmut & Sara’s story began at Mokuti Lodge, so of course it was the only place that made sense for their “I do’s.” The only catch? Half their family lives scattered across the globe. The solution? Invite everyone on a once-in-a-lifetime Namibian safari. And what a safari it turned out to be!

Not Just Weddings

I also document families who come to Namibia themselves — or simply want to be photographed as they actually are. Messy, busy, and completely worth remembering.
