Make time for each other during your day.

Absorb what is around you - the people that came, the decor, the food!

Whether you just take 5 minutes for a stroll around the venue or 10 minutes to enjoy the sunset... Take that time. It is your day.

You have invited 80+ guests to your wedding, leaving them just after the ceremony for 2 hours (sometimes more) to keep themselves busy. Guests who travelled far to be with you on your wedding day. Who captures the memories your guests are creating while you are busy with your couple photos?

Here are a few ways to avoid leaving your guests alone for hours when they only want to spend time with you.

📷 Do a first look! Take all the couple and bridal party photos before the ceremony. (I have even worked out a timeline for Namibian summer and winter times to still do these at the best time of the day!)
📷 Book a second photographer/assistant
📷 Make sure there are plenty of cameras travelling in the group to get candid shots afterwards. Or Instax cameras with a book where guests paste photos of themselves with messages (like a guest book).
📷 Rent a photo box with plenty of props so that guests can entertain themselves while you are gone.

📷📷 If the focus of your wedding is to capture your love in a setting that is just as jawbreakingly beautiful as the venue you are getting married at - make sure there is someone to photograph your guests.

📷📷 If the focus of your wedding day is to spend time with your family and friends - to create memories that will last a lifetime, do a first look.

Al wanneer jy mag terug kyk, is as jy na jou trou foto's kyk!

Onthou - jou troufoto's moet jou reflekteer. Nie jou fotograaf nie.

Ek sit gister en vertel vir iemand van troues en r

Ek sit gister en vertel vir iemand van troues en reën, en onthou net daar nog ‘n storie. Dis Paasnaweek en die wolke hang swaar oor Otjiwarongo. Met ‘n sug van verligting dink ek die troue is mos op ‘n plaas Omatjene se kant toe. Na die seremonie op die dorp ry ons uit plaas toe vir die foto's en die onthaal en ek dink nog by myself dat dit nie ‘n grondpad is wat ek graag nat sal wil ry nie.

Ons begin met die paartjie en gevolg se foto’s en die weer gee vir ons ‘n skouspel. Dis donderweer-donker-blou. Die strooijongens is soos bokke na die reën, hulle spring en pronk sover hulle gaan. Hulle het soveel energie dat ek hulle vra om vir my ‘n paar skaap lammers te vang – en daar het ek van my gunsteling foto’s ooit.

Myne verander van tyd tot tyd... maar hierdie een laat my op die oomblik hardop sing, die stuurwiel tik en ongelukkig elke pothole rond in die bors tref. Shotgun - George Ezra en Vat 'n Bietjie - Riaan Benadé as die jongste wil dans.
