I’m definitely going to agree with the meaning of Mynhardt. Patient. This little guy slept through all my manoeuvres, poses and ideas. I have not photographed a baby as patient as Mynhardt. So mommies – if you want a patient child – Mynhardt is the way to go…

That said… Mynhardt is the third child of Heinrich & Wietske, and there is a slight chance that he was as patient as he was, not because of his name, but due to the utter calm and relaxed vibe that mommy Wietske had. A vibe that only comes after you have succeeded at keeping your organised firstborn and your wild second child alive long enough to start playing with each other and not continuously bicker like where we are now. Wietske’s calm obviously had a good effect on me too and we moved swiftly through the different set-ups. Only after two hours, did Mynhardt show signs of hunger but by then, we were almost finished.

Right, so now I have photographed two boys – right after each other. Who will bring me a girl?
