Otjiwa Safari Lodge is located 40km south of Otjiwarongo on the B1 towards Windhoek. Located directly next to Okonjima Nature Reserve, the property is often overlooked, but Otjiwa has become a destination in its own right over the years.
Consisting of Otjiwa Safari Lodge, the self-catering Nest, a campsite at the Safari Lodge as well as the ultra-modern Otjiwa Mountain Lodge, you can and will find something here for your tastes and budget.
Walking into the reception at Otjiwa Safari Lodge the atmosphere is old-style African Safari with a gentle, but fresh touch of nature beautifully blended. The restaurant area has seating inside and outside, again offering more than what the eye meets. A very well-stocked bar and coffee bar overlooks the restaurant area while guests can enjoy herds of nyala coming to drink not too far from the restaurant.
Otjiwa Safari Lodge offers self-catering family chalets, the more luxurious Elegant rooms as well as the campsite. Throughout the lodge, there are also several structures and playgrounds for kids to keep themselves active. The wedding venue is also located at the lodge.
Otjiwa Mountain Lodge is located 15 minutes away on a hill overlooking the western side of the park. I think what first caught my attention at Mountain Lodge was the attention to detail. From the reception to the rooms, breakfast, and the pool… it is an exquisite experience. Otjiwa Mountain Lodge is for the experienced traveller looking for that one unique experience.
Meals are served in a restaurant above the pool, but guests also have the option to dine privately in their rooms. I had the privilege to enjoy breakfast here not too long ago, and again, the food was given as much attention as the décor of the lodge.
